Voice Notes Podcast
I’ve launched a creative writing podcast called Voice Notes
You can subscribe here:
Basically, episode 1 dropped this week, asking the question ‘what is this story really about?’ It’s a creative writing podcast, about 5-10 minutes long, a monologue from me, imagine a voice note on a messaging app when you’re struggling with your writing, that sort of vibe. Not much else to say about it other than please subscribe!
Faber Summer Course
The very last few places are available on a five-day Start Your Novel summer course I’m running for Faber Academy. Details are here for the 14-18th July iteration

Broadcasting // Malak El-Gonemy
I was honoured to talk to Mal on her excellent TV industry substack about writing, Rishi Sunak being a twat and more here. First interview I’ve done in a while. I sound unhinged. Question to ask yourself: is Shuks okay? Probably not. Text from our chat is here also subscribe to Mal’s substack while you’re there
Hope Around The Corner
Okay, so my favourite news source is the Bristol-based radical newspaper The Bristol Cable. They have, incredibly, asked me to write a monthly column for them. It’s called Hope Around The Corner. I’ll be talking about whatever’s bothering me, making the world a better place, and what’s going on in Bristol and how it relates to the rest of the country. My first piece is up now. Please read and join the Cable. It’s an incredible thing and I’m so very honoured to be joining the team, under the new(ish) editor Priyanka Raval.
